Repairs before paint
Fresh paint highlights every flaw it covers. Before a brush comes out, we fill nail pops, tape and float cracked seams, sand old roller ridges flat, and re-caulk the joints where trim meets wall. Water stains get a stain blocking primer so they do not bleed back through in a month.
If you have wallpaper, we can strip it, wash off the adhesive, and skim coat the wall so it takes paint evenly. That is a real step with a real cost, and we will quote it separately so you can decide.
Protecting the room
Furniture is moved to the center and covered. Floors get runners or drop cloths, not a sheet of plastic that slides underfoot. Switch plates and vent covers come off rather than being cut around. Doors and hardware are masked or removed.
At the end of each day the room is put back to a livable state. We do not leave open cans and taped edges sitting in your living room over a weekend.
Finishes that suit the room
Flat and matte hide wall imperfections and suit ceilings and low traffic bedrooms. Eggshell and satin wipe clean, which is what you want in hallways, kids' rooms, and family rooms. Trim, doors, and casework get a semi gloss or a waterborne enamel that stays hard and does not yellow.
Kitchens and bathrooms get a coating rated for moisture and scrubbing. If a room has a persistent humidity problem, we will say so, because paint is not a fix for ventilation.

Common questions
How long does a room take?
An average bedroom with walls, ceiling, and trim is typically a one to two day job, and a lot of that time is prep and dry time between coats. Rooms with heavy repairs, wallpaper removal, or a dark to light color change take longer. We give you a schedule with the quote.
Do I need to empty the rooms?
No. Move small valuables, breakables, and anything off the walls that you want handled personally. We move and cover the rest of the furniture. Clearing closets helps if we are painting inside them.
Is one coat ever enough?
Rarely, and we do not quote it that way. Two finish coats is standard because it gives even sheen and full hide. A big color change, a deep accent color, or bare drywall may need primer plus two coats. If a surface genuinely covers in one, we will tell you rather than charge for the second.
Can you help me choose colors?
Yes. We will walk the rooms with you, look at how the light moves through them, and narrow it down to a short list. We can put large samples on the wall so you can see them in morning and evening light before you commit.
