Before the work starts
What to expect from the first phone call to the signed quote.
How does a free estimate work?
Call or text us a few photos and a short description of what you want painted. For most projects we schedule a visit, measure and inspect the surfaces, then send a written quote with the scope, the materials, and a timeline. The estimate is free and there is no obligation to book.
What affects the price of a painting job?
Square footage is only part of it. Price moves with the amount of prep required, the condition of the surface, ceiling height and access, the number of colors and coats, the type of coating, and how much trim, doors, and detail work is involved. Repairs such as patching, caulking, or wood replacement are itemized so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
When do you work and how far out are you booking?
Our normal hours are Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Commercial jobs can often be scheduled around your business hours so we are not in the way of customers or staff. Lead time depends on the season, so call for current availability.
Are you insured?
Yes. Green Coat Custom Painting is fully insured and we are happy to provide documentation before work starts. If your building or HOA needs a certificate on file, just tell us who to send it to.
The work itself
Who shows up, what happens to your furniture, and what goes on the wall.
Who will actually be in my home?
Our own crew, with one lead assigned to your project. That lead walks the job with you at the start, answers questions while work is underway, and is the person you contact if anything comes up.
How much mess should I expect, and who cleans up?
We cover floors and furniture, mask trim and fixtures, and contain dust from sanding. The site gets tidied at the end of each day and fully cleaned at the end of the job. We remove our own debris, put the room back together, and walk the finished work with you before we call it done.
What kind of paint do you use?
Premium products from major manufacturers, chosen for the surface rather than for the invoice. Cabinets, bathrooms, exterior siding, and garage floors each want a different coating and sheen. The exact product line and sheen are written into your quote before we buy anything.
When is the best time for exterior painting in South Jersey?
Late spring through early fall is the sweet spot, when temperatures and humidity stay in range for the coating to cure properly. We watch the forecast and will move a day rather than paint into rain or a cold snap. Interior work, cabinets, and epoxy floors run year round.
